Fall Workshop with Peg Mulqueen! September 28th through October 4th!

FINDING COURAGE IN COMPASSION: WORKING WITH BACKBENDS

Investment: $40

Keeping our chest open and spacious is as much a challenge on the mat as doing the same with our hearts in life. And why? Mostly it’s because we’re afraid. And that’s understandable given no one likes feeling vulnerable, no one wants to get hurt. And, why it’s just as important to work with the emotions of backbends as it is with the pure physicality – the two really do go hand-in-hand.

In this workshop, in a very practice-able and practical way, learn how to develop the strength and openness required to physically, lift up and drop back. And in the process, gain the confidence and courage to stand in your strength with a heart, wide open. All levels welcome.

Saturday, September 28th, 1-3pm

ASHTANGA YOGA: TOUR OF INTERMEDIATE SERIES

Investment: $40

Ashtanga’s second series is certainly a trip - and one you should take! So hop on this train as we travel along rivers of backbends, discover deep twists and hips, climb strongly into the mountains of arm balances and headstands, before coming back into the station with our closing sequence. During this tour, there will be times we stop, get out, and do our own exploration - while other times, we might just have a quick look before moving on.  So all aboard! This tour of Ashtanga's Intermediate Series is open to everyone!

Sunday, September 29th 10am-Noon

BEYOND ASANA: EXPLORING THE PHILOSOPHY OF YOGA

Investment: $40

Yoga Sutra and Philosophy study.

A ‘ONCE IN A NEW MOON’ PRACTICE: A GUIDED CLASS

Investment: $40

Traditionally, Ashtanga yoga is taught to the individual student, one-on-one, with each posture given adequate time to be absorbed and developed before the next one is introduced. However, that’s not to say there isn’t also enormous benefit in introducing elements of all the series, outside this progression - because there is! And in this 2-hour workshop, students will experience a practice grounded in primary series, with the dynamism of intermediate along with the strength of advanced series woven in. More suited for students with a regular Ashtanga yoga practice - willing to step outside the box.

Individual workshops: $40

Full weekend (Sat/Sun): $125

September 30th through October 4th 7:30-10am

5-DAY ASHTANGA YOGA PRACTICE IMMERSION

Investment $150

- Monday-Thursday morning: MYSORE STYLE SELF PRACTICE

- Wednesday early evening: ASANA CLINIC

- Friday morning: LED CLASS

Limit 15 students. No drop-ins.

BIO:
With a master’s degree in psychology and nearly two decades of yoga study, I’ve always found myself drawn to any practice of change. As the founder of Ashtanga Dispatch and the host of the Ashtanga Dispatch Podcast, I am an enthusiastic ambassador of this particular method and enjoy sharing this passion with all fellow seekers on the mat – and not just those who practice Ashtanga vinyasa yoga. My intention is for all students to leave classes and workshops feeling uplifted and with a renewed sense of understanding and empowerment to bring back both into their own personal yoga practice but perhaps more importantly – into their life.
